The Rules of Casual Dating
Today’s Featured Ask the Rabbi Question Feminism I grew up in the era of feminism, and while I am thrilled at the vistas of opportunity it opened up for me and so many others, I have grown somewhat disenchanted after having seen so much negative fall-out: What does traditional Judaism say about this trade-off? The Aish Rabbi Replies: Tziporah Heller, a popular Torah teacher in Jerusalem, writes: The feminist movement stemmed from women feeling disempowered. Men clearly controlled and still control the reins of power in the political, financial and judicial spheres, which determine most of the obvious facets of personal and societal existence. Thus, a primary goal of the women’s movement has been to demand a share in this power through equal pay and equal employment opportunities. Power, in essence, is the ability to effect change. If women have financial clout or high political or business positions, it is thought, then they too can determine the changes that will affect their lives and the lives of others. But the feminist movement has failed to recognize another, more subtle form of power:

The Rules Revisited I’ve dated countless women and it has always amazed me how little they know about men. If nothing else, this blog is an outlet for voicing my astonishment at the typical female’s ignorance of the male mindset. At most, it is a reliable source of advice for women who want to improve their chances with the opposite sex. Tuesday, February 26, The Importance of Silence After a Break Up If you’ve been reading this blog for any time now, you are familiar with the idea of cutting off a man after he breaks up with you.
I want to explain a little more systematically the reasons why this is important. Keep in mind that by “break up” I mean any situation in which a man makes it clear that he is no longer interested in pursuing a sexual or romantic relationship with you: In any of these situations, cutting him off completely will accomplish five things: It will show him that you are a woman of high value.
It will demonstrate that you are a woman who isn’t desperate or needy – a woman who can live without him because you can. Men find this attractive in a woman. Although this demonstration is unlikely to increase his attraction for you enough to make him change his decision, you will avoid confirming him in his decision by showing him that you are needy, pathetic and desperate – all of which are obvious symptoms of being below his league. It will show him what he is missing by way of contrast.
By forcing him to experience life with you, and then suddenly without you in other words, before and after the break up , you will emphasize whatever feelings he has as a result of his decision.

A tri-state school teacher who used to work at one of the Disney parks, often dressing up as the friendly tiger, had a special way of getting revenge on aggressive visitors. They should also be ready for flared tempers among other guests — and Disney staffers. The former Tigger recalled the action that angered him the most: A former character attendant — an employee who runs interference for costumed performers as they mingle with visitors— remembered seeing near-brawls over Snow White.
Among her job responsibilities was to cut off the first-come, first-served line of people waiting to meet characters once break time rolled around. There was room for one more family, and two families were fighting over who got there first.

Hibernating for the Winter For some singles, the winter and holidays can be lonely and depressing, whereas other singles use the cold as an excuse to just wall-up inside and do nothing. Remembers the wandering in the dessert; also a harvest festival Observances: Building and “dwelling” in a booth; waving branches and a fruit during services Length: It is quite a drastic transition, from one of the most solemn holidays in our year to one of the most joyous. Sukkot is so unreservedly joyful that it is commonly referred to in Jewish prayer and literature as Z’man Simchateinu , the Season of our Rejoicing.
Sukkot is the last of the Shalosh R’galim three pilgrimage festivals. Like Passover and Shavu’ot , Sukkot has a dual significance: Historically, Sukkot commemorates the forty-year period during which the children of Israel were wandering in the desert, living in temporary shelters. Agriculturally, Sukkot is a harvest festival and is sometimes referred to as Chag Ha-Asif , the Festival of Ingathering. The word “Sukkot” means “booths,” and refers to the temporary dwellings that we are commanded to live in during this holiday in memory of the period of wandering.
This translation is particularly misleading, because the word “tabernacle” in the Bible refers to the portable Sanctuary in the desert, a precursor to the Temple , called in Hebrew “mishkan. Sukkot lasts for seven days. The two days following the festival, Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah , are separate holidays but are related to Sukkot and are commonly thought of as part of Sukkot. The festival of Sukkot is instituted in Leviticus No work is permitted on the first and second days of the holiday.

After a few messages back and forwards, he asked if we could talk on the phone instead. So we did for about 2 hours the time just got away.
He wanted to make plans to hang out some time. A specific place and time. Then because it was late and I had to work early the next day we finished our conversation. He then sent me a couple more random texts, about stuff we had talked about. He was married for a long time and has been separated a year. But I wonder if this is a rejection.. Pat attention to what they say AND what they do.
